Fernhurst Cricket Club - Events

May Bank Holiday Six-a-side

Unfortunately the 2014 6-a-side was cancelled twice due to the weather. Over the past few years the weather has had us on tender hooks.. Maybe holding the event on the last Bank Holiday in May is not the best time of year to be more sure of the weather.

The committee is currently reviewing future of this event that has been held for the past 15 years.

3rd May Introduction to Fernhurst Club Match

Some mid-week nets will have been held, Saturday morning coaching will have been underway for nearly a month, both the seniors teams will have had a match or two and hopefully there will be a number of new prospective players hovering around the club looking to dip their toes into the Fernhurst cricket scene.

Therefore a match involving as many players and prospective players as possible is to be held this Sunday allowing players to introduce themselves to each other and to demonstrate to their wives, girl friends and children that coming down to Fernhurst Recreation Ground can be fun for everyone.

The bar will be open and a BBQ.

October - Annual Awards Dinner

The annual presentation of the awards for the season will be held on a date to TBC in October.
Where it will be  we are not yet sure but we will let you know as soon as the venue has been confirmed.

Expect the usual 3 course meal, speeches from the usual suspects, the awarding of the trophies all followed by some music and dancing.

Once again we will have a table or two for the Juniors, or should we say the Colts, with a reduced ticket price, and look forward to again welcoming parents along on their own table.

As the season comes to a close there will be further information published here on the website and emails reminding you of the dinner.

28th October - Annual General Meeting

The AGM is a very important meeting and one that all members are encouraged to attend. It is an opportunity to resolve issues with respect to the past season and set plans in motion for the coming one.

The agenda is,

    1      Apologises for absence
    2 Previous AGM Minutes
    3  Chairman and Presidents Review
    4  Election of Officers
    5  Any Other Business

All members are invited and should make a note in their diaries NOW. There really is no excuse for not knowing about it or not attending. At the very least your apologises ought to be tended.
