Fernhurst Cricket Club - 2012 - London Auction for Nets

Celebrity auction to raise money for the new nets

100 people gathered in London on 8th November for a Celebrity Fundraiser, organised solely to raise money for Fernhurst's new cricket net project.

Hosted in spectacular surroundings overlooking the Thames and the London skyline, former England rugby player Jason Leonard and renowned sports commentator Ian Robertson gave attendees a fantastic insight into their experiences, in addition to spilling the beans in several stories that will never make the papers !

An auction of sporting memorabilia, once in a lifetime experiences, and unusual pieces of art then raised a truly exceptional £10,000 towards our project, which was a figure that most of us could have only hoped for in our most optimistic moments.

Huge thanks to the travelling team from Fernhurst who made this happen; John Mitchell, Jennifer Mitchell, Geoff Howe, Maureen Howe, Graham Heath, Mike Allen, Mischa Allen, Jackie Keogh, Bill Gourlay and honorary member Amanda Westwood.

Our thanks too to all those friends, family and sponsors who kindly donated prizes for us to raffle
