Fernhurst Cricket Club - Sunday XI

About the Sunday XI

The Fernhurst CC Sunday XI is an informal, non-league side which offers players of all abilities and ages an opportunity to play in friendly but competitive matches in the beautiful setting of the Fernhurst Recreation Ground.

Our ethos is very much around creating an enjoyable, encouraging playing environment that provides junior club members with an opportunity to learn their craft playing alongside more experienced seniors.

Fixtures are against a mixture of travelling ‘nomad ‘ sides or established Sunday sides from around London and the South East.

We are always looking for new players to join the side and appeal particularly to those who may not have played for a few years but are interested in ‘dusting off those old whites’ and returning to the wicket to turn their arm over and relive former glories! The relatively informal nature of the side and the comparatively large pool of players means that there is also no need to commit to playing every Sunday in the summer. Many of our players join for just an occasional game!

The season runs from late April to early September, with the occasional bank holiday weekend off. The side takes advantage of the all- weather nets at the FCC ground as well as arranging some indoor winter net sessions at local schools or sports centres. A small membership fee is charged seasonally with a match fee charged for any matches played. Delicious teas are provided by the club and are included in the match fee.

Family members or guests can also purchase a tea for an additional charge. A bar is also available from late afternoon onwards, serving a small selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. For membership inquiries please contact ( call to action…to register click here now .. ).
