2015 Junior Awards
Join - Very Cost Effective Membership
Fernhurst Junior have opened their books for 2016 with some 80 members already signed on and paid up. At just £30 per junior member for the year, with a sibling discount available and adult social membership included. Social membership for parents allows them to enjoy a drink at the club's members bar when there is a match in progress.

The annual subscription which allows juniors to attend the weekly Saturday morning training sessions for around £1 a week making probably Fernhurst Cricket Club the most cost effective club in the area.

Coaching this year starts on Saturday 23rd April with the weekly sessions running from 10:00 until 11:30.

Juniors can start as young as 6 years, year one, unfortunately we cannot take 'reception' age children this year. There will be some cricket play equipment available for siblings' juniors to use however this will be unsupervised by the club.

The under 8's is very full already, new joiners can be accommodated but we recommend / ask that they are do so before 23rd April.

New members are welcome and encouraged to join by emailing fernhurstjuniorcricket@outlook.com prior to the start of the season as it will help us ensure there is the correct ratio of coaches to juniors.

Junior Matches
Fernhurst CC has entered the following teams in the Berkley Sports Two Counties Youth League, the fixtures for which can be found on the FIXTURES page of this website.

Juniors during 2015

At the end of the season juniors in the age groups are presented with various awards. These are presented at the last Saturday session and all award winners are encouraged to join the whole club in celebrating the season at the annual dinner.

The dinner is an opportunity to mention 'notable' performances on or off the field and for players, partners and parents to relax and look forward to some time off during the winter and 'look forward' to the coming season.

Make a note the diary once the date of the dinner is announced, it should be fun.

Coaches and Volunteers
The club will be using three fully trained ECB Level 2 coaches on Saturday coaching sessions with a team of volunteers assisting.

More volunteers to help of a Saturday morning or at the junior fixtures, whether scoring or umpiring, are always welcome subject to the mandatory DBS check.

If you (mother, father, aunt, uncle, brother or sister) feel that you would like to become a qualified coach Fernhurst Cricket Club has a scheme to help you achieve such an ambition.

The club is always looking for help off the field, for example looking after the kitchen or bar during or after a training session or match.

Whatever basis you would like to help develop the junior cricket at Fernhurst just make yourself known to Rob Unwin or one of the coaches for more information.
