Fernhurst is an ECB-recognised hub for the development of Women & Girls cricket and we have a number of female and male ECB coaches running our training sessions as well as visits from Sussex County coaches throughout the season. We cater for all ages and ability levels from 13 upwards.
In 2024, the Fernhurst Flames will be playing hardball in Division 2 of the Aldridge Sussex league for the first time (30 overs, 11 a side). Having won several titles in the past three years the Flames will be playing softball in the Sussex league where the opportunity exists for those players not ready for hardball to experience competitive cricket. There will also be ad hoc friendly matches arranged during the season. A number of the players are also playing in the men's I'Anson 2nd XI league team and for the Sussex Martlets.
We are actively recruiting for both soft and hard ball from age 13 upwards. For younger girls we have our very successful junior section where the girls integrate into the various age groups.
Membership fees are £30 (subsidised by ECB grant funding) including all the coaching and equipment. Junior female players aged 13-18 can play in the women's teams, please opt in when completing the online membership form.
